Sandro Chia
He is one of the most important members of the Italian Transavantgarde movement (a movement known in Europe also under the name of Neo-expressionism), together with Francesco Clemente, Mimmo Paladino, Nicola De Maria and Enzo Cucchi.
Chia currently lives and works between New York and Montalcino near Siena. He has exhibited at the Paris Biennial, the Sao Paulo Biennial and in various editions of the Venice Biennial.
